Why Choose an At-Home Boudoir Session?

When most people think of boudoir photography, they picture a studio with backdrops. But there's another option: bringing the session to you. Here's why an at-home boudoir session might be the perfect choice.
Comfort
There's something special about being photographed in your own space. You feel more at ease quicker. Your home is already your comfort zone-why leave it to create intimate, vulnerable images?
Skip the Pre-Session Stress
No packing stress. Forget about triple-checking that you've packed every outfit, accessory, and pair of shoes.
No navigation anxiety. No GPS mishaps, no getting lost, no panicking about being late.
No parking nightmares. You know that frantic feeling of circling a block looking for parking? Yeah, none of that.
These little stressors add up, and eliminating them means you can focus entirely on feeling beautiful and confident.
Your Wardrobe at Your Fingertips
Here's a bonus I love: your closet is right there. Sometimes I'll spot something amazing you overlooked- that silk robe you forgot about, those perfect heels in the back, or a jewelry piece that ties the whole look together. Having access to your entire wardrobe means more options and more creativity.
Pet Portraits Bonus!
Picked an image collection with in session bonuses? One of them is pet portraits. I love animals, so you'll probably end up with more than the listed amount of pet photos.
Displaying Your Images
Wondering where you'll display your boudoir portraits? I can help with that too. We can talk about wall art placement, including some unexpected locations that ensure your images stay as private as you want them to be.
Empty nest and ready to celebrate yourself in the living room? Absolutely! Let's make it happen.
Prefer something more modest and private? There are plenty of beautiful options for that too—your bedroom behind the door, a walk-in closet, in suite bathroom.
What About the Kids?
Kids at home? No problem! They’re welcome to be around as long as you’re comfortable. This usually works best if you can set them up with a movie and snacks in a separate room. We can keep a robe close by if they wander in.
Need to take a break to check on them? Perfect! Breaks are actually great for both of us- it gives you a moment to reset, and me a chance to plan our next setup.
Want everyone out of the house? That works too!
Or other adults?
Your comfort is the most important part of this experience. If you’re sure you'd like to have someone with you, I suggest choosing a close friend who’s fully positive and supportive. That way, you can stay focused on yourself without feeling distracted.
Partners are welcome in certain situations, but many clients find they relax more easily and feel freer when it’s just the two of us.
"But What About the Mess?"
I hear this concern a lot, and I totally get it so I've created a guide. I don't need your entire house to be pristine. We're typically in one or two rooms, and there's a few options:
Just hide the clutter in a closet or a box. Problem solved.
Maybe you've been looking for that reason to finally deep clean your bedroom? Consider this your sign!
Or maybe you'd rather hire some help to prep the space so you can focus on pampering yourself before the session.
All approaches are completely valid. Remember, I'm a photographer, I'm not here to judge your cleaning skills. A few strategically placed items out of frame is all we need to create beautiful images.
An at-home boudoir session is all about making this experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible. You deserve to feel amazing, and sometimes the best place to do that is right where you already feel most like yourself—at home.
A Clear Mind, A Better Session
Important note: Even though you're home and not driving anywhere, you are still required to be sober for your session.
